Turn tiny kicks into big cognitive leaps
Tiny Controls turns your baby's natural kicks into an engaging display of music and rotating, beautifully designed high-contrast cards. Made to stimulate early visual, cognitive, and motor development, the mobile empowers your infant to discover that their own physical movements directly control their environment. It transforms everyday crib time into an active, joyful lesson in cause and effect.

SUPPORTED BY:
The Science behind it
For 50 years, infant cognitive research has shown that babies engage longer and are happier when they can control their environment. Tiny Controls translates these five decades of study into a modern developmental toy, giving infants true control over their playtime
Sparks Genuine Joy
When babies discover that they have active control over their environment, it leads to pure excitement, often triggering vigorous smiling and cooing
Inspires Deep Focus
Because the mobile responds directly to their actions, babies stay happily immersed in self-directed play for extended periods — giving you a moment to simply step back and observe
Refines Motor Skills
Watch random newborn reflexes transform into intentional coordination. To trigger the mobile, babies naturally adapt, practice, and refine their leg movements
Teaches Cause and Effect
This is your baby's first science experiment. Connecting their physical movements to the mobile's direct response actively wires their developing brain for logical thinking
How It Works
Every aspect of the mobile is specifically designed to resonate with your baby's developmental stage, taking into account scientific results and translating them into early cause-and-effect learning, high-contrast visuals, and pleasant soundscapes. The variety of the mobile's responses gives a lot to discover, keeping your little one curious for much longer than a passive toy would.Soft wearable ankle bands give your little one full control over the mobile's reactions.

Motion
Your baby controls the rotation of the mobile, different types of leg movement lead to new ways of responses
Sight
The beautifully designed high-contrast cards directly face your baby and give room for plenty of visual exploration. You can easily exchange cards or flip them over, so there is even more to explore.
Sound
The mobile allows for a variety of sounds: Your baby can explore the pentatonic scales, and you can also play some well-known melodies, either in your baby's own rhythm, or with the original rhythmic pattern.
Our story
We are Lera and Florian, an architect and an engineer, parents of two, living in Porto, Portugal.Inspired by a drawing in a book by Swiss paediatrician Remo Largo, we built a first version of the Baby Mobile for our first daughter. Put together during the rare free, sleep-deprived hours of our daughter's first weeks, it was very simple - so simple that it didn't work :) When our second daughter announced herself, we decided to make it work this time.We went on a deep-dive into scientific literature, and discovered the vast body of work on the Mobile Conjugate Reinforcement paradigm. that shows how babies engage longer and are happier when their actions control their environment.Encouraged by the mobile's decades of use in developmental research, we improved the original by replacing the ribbon on one leg with safe wireless motion sensors attached to both ankles. Now, an infant's natural kicks directly control the mobile's rotation, speed, and sounds. After successful prototype testing, we are excited to be moving ahead to bring this science-based, empowering tool to families everywhere.
